Preseason Recap (will it matter?)

Well, here it is, The NBA preseason is finally over. As NBA fans, we were always told that the preseason didn't mean anything. Its really hard to tell if the preseason really matters, because there are so many teams that do bad in the preseason. Then, some of those same teams that did bad in the preseason end up having a great record by the time playoffs roll around. By the end of the 2013-2014 preseason, the San Antonio Spurs had one of the worst records. The playoffs came around and The Spurs became the 2013-2014 NBA champions. Most people would argue that in the preseason the starters aren't used as much. If that's the case, then the Spurs in theory should have had one of the best preseason records as well. Everybody in the league knows that the Spurs have one of the best benches in the league. This year, The defending champions only won one game in the preseason. Also, many of the playoff teams from last year had a losing record in this years preseason. In my opinion, the preseason means something; but it doesn't mean much. I believe the preseason is just a stage to get players warmed up for the regular season. I could be wrong. The only thing us as fans can do is sit back and watch.

Until next time, See ya!

Atlanta Hawks v.s Miami Heat (preseason game)

Good news Atlanta Hawks fans! Center Al Horford made his return to the NBA tonight! Al Horford didn't play much last season due to a torn pectoral muscle early in the 2013-2014 season. He sat out until tonight, when the Atlanta Hawks decided to let him play in tonight's preseason game against the Miami Heat. He didn't have a huge impact on the game only earning two points and a rebound. Still, Atlanta Hawks fans have to be ecstatic for the return of their star player. the Atlanta Hawks won the game 109-103. They scored 43 points in the third quarter to help get them out of a small first half hole. The Heat haven't been doing very well in the preseason (0-4). I'm not sure if this is a result of Lebron James not being their anymore, or the Hawks being a better team (2-1). The Eastern Conference isn't as strong as the Western Conference. That alone should give Hawks fans hope that they'll be a challenging playoff contender this year. They came close to beating the Indiana Pacers in the playoffs last year, but couldn't finish the series strong. One thing is for sure, both of these teams will be fun to watch. Besides, this is just a preseason game. These two will meet again in the regular season. The Heat will be looking to get revenge on the Hawks. They play again November 14th.

Do you think the Miami Heats poor performance this preseason will spill over to the regular season?
Is Al Horford's return to the Atlanta Hawks the spark that'll get them deeper in the playoffs?

Until next time!

NBA Season Opener Preview

Here we go again basketball fans! We are two weeks away from the NBA's first game of the 2014-2015 season. On October 28th, the defending champion San Antonio Spurs will face-off against the the Dallas Mavericks. Later on that night, Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers, play James Harden and the Houston Rockets. These two games will make for a great opening night, as Kobe Bryant returns to the court after suffering from multiple knee problems last season. He will be matched up against one of the more elite shooting guards in the NBA James Harden. Dwight Howard will also cause a challenge for the Lakers now that they have lost one of there premiere big men, Pau Gasol. The defending champion San Antonio Spurs look to defeat Western Conference rivals the Dallas Mavericks. Dallas acquired former Houston Rocket Chandler Parsons. Chandler Parsons is an athletic, defensive, three shooter that'll try to contain the explosive skill set possessed by Spurs small forward Kawhi Leonard. The Spurs are of course favored to win; though I wouldn't jump to conclusions too soon. Western Conference games have the potential to be nail-biters no matter how "bad" NBA fans believe certain teams are.
This should be a great night for fans all over.

I'm curious to know who you think will come out on top October 28th..
Will the Dallas Mavericks upset the Spurs?
Will Kobe Bryant return as the same Kobe Bryant we know him as?

I guess we will just have to see...Until next time!
